Anni-Verve-sary Spotlight Hop - Day 1

I'm super "HAPPY" to kick off Verve's Anni-Verve-sary Spotlight Hop!!  This release is absolutely fabulous and all you hop'ers are in for a fabulous 9 days of projects from the awesome Verve Divas. If you have been hopping along, you should have arrived here from Betty's blog.  If you're just stumbling upon this, you can visit the Verve blog for the entire hop list.

For my card today, I used the awesome Birthday for You Plain Jane and the super fun Pennant Trim Border Die.  I paired the two with a couple other Verve stamps and dies and for even more Verve-ness, I used the August 2012 Viva La Verve Week 2 sketch (below)!!  I really loved the versatility of this simple Plain Jane as it is a great all-around Birthday sentiment!!

Don't forget that there's a prize hidden along today's hop so remember to leave a little love in the comment section of each blog as you hop around.  A random winner will be drawn from one of the comments on the mystery blog and the sets and dies featured that day will be awarded!!  Also, don't forget to check out the Verve forum over at SCS for some great Anni-Verve-sary Challenges with even more prizes!!

Without further pause, I'll send you on over to Laurie's blog to check out what fabulous creations she is featuring today!!  If you've gotten a little lost along the way, here is the master list for today:

About the Card
The base is an A2 in kraft paper followed by layers of More Mustard and DP from Simple Stories - Happy Day paper pad.  The edges were sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  The scalloped layer was cut from DP as well using MFT medium scalloped border die.  The pennant border was cut from Blue Bayou using the new Verve Pennant Trim Die.  The circle trim was cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities circle dies.  The sentiment from Verve's new Birthday to You Plain Jane was stamped on white using Chocolate Chip and Raspberry Ripple SU inks.  The stars were added from Verve's Super Dad set using Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive inks.  The panel was distressed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress inks and cut out using Verve's Rounded Rectangle Die.  The border was cut out of kraft cardstock using Verve's Rounded Scallop Die, corrugated with the Fiskars corrugating tool, and sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Chocolate ribbon and brads were added for flair.  The balloon strings were stamped on the DP using Chocolate chip ink.  The balloons themselves were cut out of Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive cardstock and sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Finally, a wodden button and some Yellow Divine Twine was added for embellishment.
